Stock Market

June 2006

Stock Market Investors

A topic of many of the Lunch Bunch discussion are about nanotechnology.  A discussion today is not when it going to arrive but what are the key stocks to profit from the nanotechnology.  The information below comes from the Forbes/Wolfe Nanotech Report.

There are many real products being produced with this new science of the small.  With the help of Lux Research, these are the top 10 nanotech products of 2005.

  1. Apple Computer; Inside iPod are memory chips using NAND and DRAM flash memory.
  2. Shemen Industries; A brand of cooking oil that inhibit that absorption of cholesterol.
  3. O’Lalas Foods; Chocolate flavored chewing gum.
  4. Zelens Fullerene; Face cream that is 100 more times antioxidant than Vitamin E.
  5. Easton Sports; A baseball bat that optimizes flex in the hitting zone.
  6. Nano-Tex; Clothing material that repels liquids, reduce static, and rest stain.
  7. ARC Outdoors; Silver embedded material that reduce orders and fungus in socks.
  8. Behr Process; Creates a harder, more durable paint film.
  9. Pilkington; A glass that cleans itself in a 2 stage process.
  10. Nano-Twin; Filter that destroy airborne germs.

Government funding in nanotechnology reached $4.5 billion this year.  Corporate finding is right on it’s heels at $4.3 billion.  This is an important threshold because business will become much more of a driver and should begin to see some IPO’s in the sector.

That is all for this month.

By’em lo,
