The East Tennessee Computer
Society is not responsible for the validity of items for sale,
e-mail addresses or any items which are posted on this list!
RULES
This list is to post items you
have for sale. Please give complete descriptions of the items
you are selling. Preferably used computer
equipment should be your main listing.
You may also post "I Want"
items and other neat stuff if you think it would be of interest to
the list members.
This list is intended for the general
East Tennessee area. However, anyone may join. You do not have to be
member of the East Tennessee Computer Society. In the case where
shipping is required, it is up to the individual participants to
make the arrangements.
Individuals and Businesses wanting to advertise on
KnoxSwap can advertise **new** or used computers, accessories,
commercial software (new or used including OEM software except where
in violation of license agreements), should be able to do so as long
as:
1. Used or refurbished hardware and software are labeled as such.
2. They place only one ad per week.
3. They limit advertisements to four items.
4. They Release ETCS from responsibility and hold them harmless of
any
liability.
You may also advertise any other items you think
may be of interest to the list members.
The Webmaster will have the right to remove
and bar from the
list any list member who abuses our rules without any additional notice.
Software sales
ARE permitted.
“You
must legally own the software".
By using this list you agree to
hold ETCS harmless of any liability for the performance of your
offer or product. The buyer assumes the risk of investigating
the merchandise offered and will in no way hold ETCS responsible for
false advertisement or the seller’s failure to complete their
agreement. Only commercial software where such sale does not
violate any manufacturers licensing agreement may be sold. The
seller assumes full responsibility for the use of this list and
agrees not to use this list for any illegal purpose.”
As a matter of policy "backup" or
"archival" copies of any software, and copies sold as "OEM" or
"Academic Version" may not be advertised on KnoxSwap. We are aware
that sometimes you may lawfully make a backup copy of software,
and in some rare instances, even lawfully sell that backup copy.
However, in view of simplicity, even legally permissible "backup"
or "archival" copies of software are not permitted on KnoxSwap.
In general, if it can be licensed, or
the license transferred, then it is ok to sell. The final authority is
the publisher of the software in question.
Members will be
removed when undeliverable mail reports are received. It may be
necessary for you to join again. (Usually this happens when you
change internet service providers and forget to unsubscribe.)
Our rules are
subject to change with out notice!
I will try and
send the list a membership total from time to time. Your email
address will not be given to anyone by the webmaster.
How it works
This list will permit you to send one e-mail
message and have it go out to all list members!
Your
participation in this list is strictly optional.
You must join the
mailing list!
NOTHING WILL HAPPEN UNTIL YOU JOIN.
When you receive a piece of e-mail
from the list, you may just click your REPLY button. This will send a
reply back to the originator of the email. Your reply will not go
to the list.
By using the list, you agree that the ETCS,
its officers, and its volunteers are not responsible for any consequences of its
use, and ETCS or its agents make NO representations
whatsoever about the fitness of ANY product for ANY particular purpose.
